Welcome to the studio

The art finds the story. The design tells it.

  • I'm Cat — a British artist and surface pattern designer who moved to Vancouver, BC on a whim in 2013 and never left.

When I'm not in the studio I'm on or around the water, in a sound bath, on a yoga mat, lost in a book, or — admittedly — wishing I was back in the studio.

A decade across design, marketing, and creative leadership helped me develop the skillset I have today. My decisions in 2025 gave me the nerve to leave it behind and build something of my own.

    Read my story

  • I create patterns for brands who want their products to start a conversation — and sell.

My aesthetic blends maximalist energy with minimalist motifs — it's bold, abstract, and full of character, with colour pairings that carry as much story as the motifs themselves.

Available to license or buy from my existing library, or commissioned as something entirely new — built around your brief and your brand.

    See the work

  • Every piece of work that leaves my studio is considered, intentional, and made to matter. I built this practice so I can genuinely enjoy my craft at a pace that works both for me and the art — and I've been told that enjoyment is contagious. That intention goes into everything I make, every conversation I have, and eventually into your products.

While I can't control how and when the ideas come to me, I can control the commitment and energy I give to them when they do. I don't take my creativity for granted. By living a life that feeds it, I'm able to make work that not only looks good — it means something. And work that means something is work that sells.

    See how it works

  • I work with mid-market and independent brands who care about the story behind the design as much as the design itself — across lifestyle, apparel, swimwear, sportswear, hospitality, and homeware. Brands whose customers want to pick up a product and feel something about it. If that sounds like you...
